Ritual Transgression: Content Shift into Black Rites

Originally, I started this blog to compile interesting news articles covering unconventional current affairs. Eventually I realized I was taking more time to read into metal culture than keeping up with any news. The Absurd Spectacle today makes a violent shift and begins ritual transgression into being a black metal focused blog.

Considering I’ll be going from having zero readers to starting out with zero readers, my satisfaction is the main priority of this effort. I’m not doing this for a sense of validity, I could care less. The Absurd Spectacle was named after the absurdities that consistently disgusted me everywhere I look around in our “developing” world (e.g., news from the drug war front), but instead of news coverage it’s now about the sick hollow feelings I get from this world and the music that fills that void. Black metal is my validity.

Firstly, this blog is going to act as a timestamp for my current tastes in music, thus also accurately reflecting my moods and attitudes of this era in life. Secondly, it’s for archival purposes for a possible future website depending on how this goes. And third, it’s for people I personally know to expand their metal horizons beyond the mainstream.

Black metal is a focal point because it’s my personal favorite and I believe it to be one of the most diverse, but that doesn’t mean I wont be branching into death, grind, and the like. I don’t like to plan too much ahead as I’m much more comfortable amidst chaos and novel irrelevance. So lets see where this ride goes…

To our some 650,000 daily readers of the past: Our street press crew has called off their protest, we’ve hired a new financial team to manage any issues our stock investors might have, transferred the majority of our massive archives to secure private servers hosted in Sweden, and generally upped production in many branches of our franchise. But to skip all the fictional techno-babble and cut to the chase, we’re back up and running!

And by “we” I of course mean “I.”

Considering I didn’t actually have a single regular reader, this might as well be the introduction post. As seen in the previous posts, this will be a collection of news articles that pertain to my often unconventional but otherwise diverse interests. This will not cater to what anyone else is interested in, but without getting into the many reasons I will say that submissions and suggestions are considered and appreciated. Additionally, commenting on articles is highly appreciated! I always enjoy and fully welcome other perspectives as well as criticisms.

All that being said, frequent topics will cover things like current events, drug law reform, politics, and also music. My main interest is metal, but I will post other genres sometimes.

I’m mainly excited to document my life through this time for looking back on later in the future, and also reference to in the present times. Why so selfish? I’ve built websites my entire life, nobody has ever given a shit about anything I’ve done on the web (or much otherwise at all) before so I don’t expect any significant readership to come around this time either! 😀 But who knows, with enough perseverance maybe I will find a crowd of like minded individuals and form a tight community, a man can dream right? Whatever.
